Sikkim, also known as "Denzong", the valley of rice, has always
enchanted visitors with its vibrant culture, beautiful hills,
mountains, people, flora & fauna. A land of tranquility, blessed by
the Gods, Sikkim has proven to be paradise on earth.
It is bounded by Bhutan, Nepal and China to its east, west and north
respectively. The southern boundary is shared with the state of West
Bengal. Sikkim is very rich in biodiversity with more than 600
species of orchids, 36 rhododendrons species, 23 bamboo varieties,
60 primula species, over 424 medicinal plants and a total of 550
species of birds.
Tourists visiting Sikkim have a wide array of activities to choose
from. Monastic tours to rock climbing, river rafting to cultural
tours, climbing peaks to bird watching, you can have it all. All
these activities can be organised by local registered tour
operators.
"Aashishkhim" is a Nepali-Sikkimese term that literally means "House
of Blessings". Aashishkhim Guest House is located in the suburbs of
Gangtok about 2 Kms. away from the city. The area is completely
surrounded by lush green trees and bamboo grooves with a perpetual
stream nearby.
The exterior of the structure is of dressed stone and the guests are
housed in comfortably furnished rooms with running hot and cold
water and cable TV. There is an adjoining spacious common living
area with balcony and veranda. The modest lawn and garden is visited
by a variety of birds and butterflies in the early hours and are a
treat to watch. Indira Bypass along the guest house is a marvelous
route for long walks in the countryside through sparsely populated
areas.
Come, stay with us for an unforgettable experience in hospitality
and comfort in truly peaceful surroundings.
